Experience the best of Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley with our Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley Day Trip.

As the first marine reserve on Ambergris Caye, our tour will collect you from your resort at 8:15 am or 1:15 pm and take you to our office to get fitted for gear if needed.

Our boats are fully equipped with life jackets, a first aid kit, a fire extinguisher, and cell phones for emergency purposes.

We also provide a cooler with fresh drinking water and fruit to snack on between stops.

The tour includes two stops, the first being Zone A of the reserve. Here, you’ll snorkel away from the boat around a small channel in the reef.

The tour starts in the shallow portion of the reserve to get everyone accustomed to the conditions and equipment.

Next, the guide will lead you around the Zone, pointing out all of the reserve’s marine life, from turtles to nurse sharks, and spotted eagle rays to green moray eels.

This portion of the tour lasts between 45 minutes to an hour:

Once this portion is complete, you’ll enter the boat again, and your guide will offer you fresh water and fruits to remove the salty taste from your mouth.

From there, it’s a five-minute boat ride to the next stop, Shark and Ray Alley, which was added in 1999 by fishermen.

Here, you’ll have the chance to see the Nurse Sharks, Southern Stingrays, and Caribbean Stingrays.

Jumping in as quickly as possible requires spending as much time with marine life since they are shy and stay away from the boat’s length.

This portion of the tour is conducted closer to the boat than the first portion, and you’ll snorkel for as long as the marine life stays near the ship.

Then, back on the boat, we offer more fruits and water before the 20-minute ride back to the dive shop, where we will return you to your resort.
